On June 9th, 2019, Twitter got rocked by a bizarre tweet from Justin Bieber, that appeared to come out of nowhere. Bieber posted, “I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?” People were shook, and Justin’s atrocious grammar wasn’t the only reason why.
Validity?
Even Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, reacted to the mysterious tweet by making a post himself. Scooter shared a tweet from Billboard that read “@justinbieber challenges #TomCruise to ‘fight in the octagon.’ ” adding “Of course he did, just a normal Sunday. But I have no interest in watching or helping in making this happen unless it includes crushed glass on the knuckles and a live bear released in to the octagon in the 4th round, Oh and the money should go to charity of course.”

From Mario Lopez to Cole Sprouse, celebrities have been adding fuel to the fire by posting response tweets. Of course, the celebs weren’t the only people who had something to say about this. Twitter users have chosen sides and are already placing bets on who they think will win. “Well I don’t know why people think that Justin Bieber can’t win against Tom Cruise ? Like he literally fought a 7 foot man who probably weight about 250 lbs & was 3x bigger than his size & got away without a single scratch. He’s strong enough to easily take down someone his size” one user tweeted. Many people who responded to Justin’s tweet just wanted to let him know that “it’s YOU’RE, not your.”
But Wait…THERE’S MORE!
UFC fighters Conor McGregor, and Oscar De La Hoya have not only offered to host the fight, but McGregor has challenged Mark Wahlberg to a fight as well. He tweeted, “I challenge Mark Walhberg on the very same card. Back when Mark Wahlberg was marky mark, Id’ve still slapped the ears off him and took my UFC shares back. #Shares #Streams #Dazb #Espn” Those sound like serious fightin’ words to me, McGregor.
Right now, it is unclear what will go down between Bieber and Top Gun, but with more celebs challenging each other, it’s pretty obvious that whatever happens, will be entertaining. Clearly there are many reasons, aside from being scared, that Tom would decline the match, but if he accepts, we are HERE FOR IT!
