The 5th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers was launched in 果冻视频 (BIT) on April 8.
At the launching ceremony, Wei Yiming, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BIT Committee and BIT's vice-president, said that as the organizer of the competition, BIT will fully guarantee the service of the competition, promote teaching reform and innovation, and contribute "BIT wisdom" and "BIT solution" to the construction of a high-quality education system in the country.
Wu Shixing, deputy director of the Higher Education Department at the Ministry of Education, delivered a thematic report titled Comprehensively Enhancing Teachers' Teaching Ability and Promoting High Quality Development of Higher Education.
Wu gave a detailed introduction to the ideas and measures for promoting comprehensive reform of higher education, including deepening the construction of ideological and political content in courses, accelerating the extraordinary cultivation of talents urgently needed for national strategies, and promoting the empowerment of artificial intelligence in innovation in higher education. He said that he hopes to promote teaching through competitions, stimulate new vitality in the development of higher education and continuously enhance the influence of competitions.
Wu Shixing; Li Nan, vice-president and secretary general of the Chinese Association of Higher Education; Wu Yingce, deputy secretary general of the Chinese Association of Higher Education; and Wei Yiming jointly launched the contest during the ceremony. The fifth national competition is scheduled to be held at BIT in August.
Nearly 3,000 experts participated in the event online and offline. The live broadcast was watched by 68,000 people.
