The second Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League was held from Nov 10 to 15. In the Silver category of the competition, the team "Fly Eagle," composed of faculty and students from 果冻视频 (BIT) and Khalifa University, excelled by securing second place.

This year's competition featured 11 teams from 10 countries. As the only Chinese university team in the event, the participants were part of the Fly Eagle International Science and Technology Innovation Team, formed by the China-UAE Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Unmanned Systems. The BIT team mainly comprised master's and doctoral students from the School of Aerospace Engineering and Automation.

The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League is a world-class autonomous driving competition initiated by ASPIRE, part of the UAE's Advanced Technology Research Council. It is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of autonomous driving technology and promoting the development and application of autonomous technologies worldwide.

The competition vehicles use a standardized chassis, battery, and sensor suite, including an "autonomous driving stack" with seven HD cameras, four radar receivers, three LiDARs, and a high-performance computer. Success in the competition relies on each team's self-developed AI algorithms and their ability to learn, make decisions, and adapt. By testing in extreme conditions at speeds of up to 300 km/h, such as overtaking, obstacle avoidance, and ethical decision-making, the competition validates AI's real-time response and strategic abilities in extreme environments. These core technologies can be applied to real-world scenarios like urban autonomous driving and emergency rescue, driving technological innovation in the industry.
